Therapy Costs and Payment Options
My rate is $185 per session, which lasts 50-55 minutes. I also offer a limited number of sliding scale spots for those in need.

Using Insurance for Therapy
Insurance may require a psychiatric diagnosis for therapy coverage, which can impact your records. I prioritize a personalized therapy approach, free from insurance constraints, ensuring maximum privacy and flexibility.
Payment is due at the time of service. I provide superbills for insurance reimbursement if needed. Please check your insurance policy for mental health benefits and consider using FSA or HSA funds for therapy.

What to Expect in Therapy
In therapy, we address emotional issues affecting your life and relationships using ISTDP. This method helps confront difficult emotions, improving your mental and relational health. ISTDP is intensive and short-term, focusing on current feelings to facilitate rapid healing. It explores the mind-body connection and aims for quick, positive changes.

Preparing for Your First Session
In our first session, we will get to know each other, and start focusing on the problems you are experiencing, and crafting a plan to move towards your goals.
Have notebook and pen ready for notes, and think about a specific issue or goal you'd like to discuss. If you're unsure, don't worry—I'll help you figure it out.
Lastly, after our sessions, it can be helpful to jot down key insights. Keeping a record of these thoughts can be a powerful reminder of the progress you're making in therapy. It's a simple way to keep track of your growth and stay focused on your goals.

Duration of Therapy
The length of therapy varies depending on your goals, how quickly you can overcome internal obstacles, and your willingness to collaborate in working together to solve your problems. Some people may see improvement within the first 6 sessions, while others may require more extended treatment, ranging from 20 to 150 sessions.
Sessions last about 50 minutes, typically once a week. A commitment of 3-6 months is recommended for optimal results.

Recognizing Improvement
Progress in therapy is a personal journey and depends on your engagement and openness. It may be uncomfortable at times, but with commitment, you should notice a decrease in negative symptoms and a boost in confidence and clarity. This progress might lead to significant changes in how you relate to others, ending unhealthy relationships and fostering healthier ones.

My Role as Your Therapist
As your therapist, I'll provide dedicated, practical, open and empathic support, challenging you when needed and aiding in your growth. While immediate changes aren't guaranteed, I'm committed to your psychological well-being. I will support you, work to understand and help you see and change your long-standing hurtful patterns, and help clarify your goals. Together, we'll work towards enhancing your psychological well-being, even if it means making substantial shifts in your relationships. Your honesty and cooperation are key to achieving the results you desire.

If Therapy Doesn't Feel Right
It's normal to question therapy's effectiveness. It's not uncommon to have doubts or feel uncertain, especially if you're not experiencing immediate progress. If concerns arise, let's discuss them. Your well-being is my priority, and I'm open to adjusting our approach or helping you find another resource if needed.
If at any point you feel like therapy isn't working for you or you want to stop sessions, let me know. Together, we can explore what might be causing these feelings and make necessary adjustments to our approach.
